Tunisia and Ancient Cities Tour

We meet in front of the Turkish Airlines counter at the international departures terminal of Istanbul Airport 3 hours before the flight. After completing baggage, ticket and passport procedures, we depart for Tunis at 07.50 on Turkish Airlines flight TK661. We arrive in Tunis at 08.45 local time and begin our city tour in the vehicle waiting for us at the airport. During the tour, we see Habib Bourguiba Boulevard, known as the Champs Elsysees Boulevard of Tunis, Independence Square, the Clock Tower, a symbol of the city, and St. Vincent de Paul Cathedral, the largest surviving building from the colonial period in Tunis. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel in the Hammamet area and have free time. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel in the Hammamet area.

After breakfast at the hotel, we join the Historical Traces of Tunisia (Tunis & Carthage & Bardo Museum & Sidi Bou Said) tour. Our first stop is Tunis, the country's capital and its political, commercial and cultural centre. Here, we will have the chance to see both modern and old Tunis. We then head to Carthage, founded by the Phoenicians, once one of the Roman Empire's centres in Africa and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a lunch break here, we continue to Sidi Bou Said. In this town known for its cobbled streets and blue-and-white houses, we stop for photos with views of the Mediterranean. The final stop on our tour is Bardo Museum, one of the Mediterranean region's most important museums. The museum houses an extensive marble collection depicting Roman gods and emperors, along with the world's largest collection of Roman mosaics. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel in the Hammamet area.

After breakfast at the hotel, we join the Ancient Cities (Kairouan & El Djem & Sousse) tour. Our tour begins in Kairouan. Ranked fourth among Islamic pilgrimage destinations after Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem, this holy city is home to the Great Mosque, considered one of the region's important examples of Islamic architecture. We then travel to El Djem to see the ruins of North Africa's largest colosseum. After visiting this structure, which drew 35.000 spectators to watch gladiator fights during the region's heyday, we continue to Sousse, the country's 3rd largest city and one of its tourism centres. We stop for lunch in Sousse, known for its scenery and the markets and walls of its maze-like medina in the city centre. After the break, we return to our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel in the Hammamet area.

After breakfast at the hotel, we complete check-out. We leave for the airport at the time specified by our guide. After baggage and ticket procedures, we depart for Istanbul at 17.55 on Türk Hava Yolları flight TK 664. Our tour ends upon arrival at 22.45 local time.
