Villa Borobudur

An amazing experience with a comfortable room, great views, lovely pools, fabulous service, and tasty food & cocktails. A wonderful 5 star Javanese experience as a guest - transfers were arranged (with a stop for some amazing Batik shopping), Borobudur VIP tour with transfer, no request was too great - with staff who were helpful & friendly (a head massage was arranged within a hour). All great value! But don’t drive yourself as the road is steep to access this hillside resort. Be prepared for community sounds - it is above a vibrant valley with cultural & religious celebrations well into the twilight hours. The stunning view of the Temple and Mountains, and peaceful setting made this experience a joy - especially with a sunrise garden or pool for yoga, prayers, and photography.

Wow! Absolutely WOW! During our stay it was foggy and raining but shortly before sunrise and during breakfast we saw the Merapi Volcano and Mount Sumbing. The Borobudur Temple is a short free shuttledrive away and many other activities can be arranged at the hotel. We stayed in a Borobudur Suite and it was absolutely quiet (apart from the Prayers in the early morning from the mosques around the area) But we used the early wake up call for an incredible sunrise from Sinar Hill. The infinity pool at Sagara Vista is spectacular. All of the staff at the resort are truthfully amazing friendly. We had a very good time with our driver Nanang, we booked a tour to the Merapi for the Jeep tour. If you are interested in Volcanoes please visit the MGM Volcano Museum! To the city of Yogyakarta it’s only little more then an hour. All the meals we had at Taste Java were dangerously delicious! So we enjoyed our visit to the fullest and will come back for some more adventures. Thank you so much for this lovely stay❤️
