Hotel Le Temple Borobudur

* WOW STAY * After a wonderful stay in the Marriott Jogja (which I have covered separately in Google Reviews), we treated ourselves to a two-nights stay in the famous Hotel Le Temple Borobudur. There is nothing more I could add in my review that were not covered in prior reviews, but wow - this is a beautifully designed luxury boutique hotel run by the friendly, capable father and son team whom we met and spoke to several times during our stay, and aided by the excellent group of local staff, who are so kind and friendly. We just could not stopped photographing this award-winning property - the grounds and landscaping are indeed spectacular and photogenic. This very small property consists of villas and we are assigned to a central one facing the pool, with lots of living space within the unit. Coming from Singapore, we are used to the humidity; we also did not encounter any mosquitoes during our stay. There are mosquito repellent lights if needed within the villa. Because the small size of the property, service is individualised and we can communicate easily with the staff on Whatsapp if need arises during our stay. So, we do not need to pay Aman-level prices for an individualised stay in such a beautiful property. Overall, this ranks as one of our favourite properties we have the opportunity to experience in our world travels. Staying in this property allows us to access the main gate of the Borobudur complex easily by walking - that is one of the main selling point of this property. The airport drop off service provided by the property is also well worth the price; the driver is so friendly and obviously an expert driver, and the vehicle provided is very good. Are there any points of note for improvement? 1. Because of the design, the main check-in area becomes very hot and sauna-like during the day, with little airflow for the guests and staff. 2. The maintenance of the wooden shower doors in the villa would need to be look at, because of the humidity and constant spraying of shower water.

An absolutely unforgettable 5-Star experience! My wife, our four children, and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night stay in the Family Stupa Villa Pool. Having our own private pool was amazing, and the food at the restaurant was exceptionally delicious. What made our trip even more fun were the activities-we had a blast riding the ATV to the river and taking the horse carriage. Also, a unique highlight was the Singing Bowl in the lobby. The kids and I loved it so much that we actually wanted to buy it, but unfortunately, it's not for sale, haha! If we ever visit Central Java again, we will definitely stay here!😊🤗

We spent a few days at Le Temple in an Executive Pool Villa, and from the moment we arrived, we knew we had made the right decision. Rather than simply visiting Yogyakarta and moving on, staying here gave us the chance to slow down, disconnect and experience a completely different side of the area. Le Temple is beautiful. The stupa-inspired villas are unique, the gardens are lush and peaceful, and there is a wonderful sense of calm throughout the property. We especially loved that it is nestled alongside a local village. Seeing people going about their day, children playing and little glimpses of everyday life made the setting feel authentic and connected to its surroundings rather than isolated from them. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, spa and facilities, and the location was perfect for exploring. Borobudur is very close by, and we also did a drive and hike at Selogriyo accompanied by a guide from the hotel, which was another highlight of our stay. But what we will remember most about Le Temple is the people. Every time we returned after a day out, it genuinely felt like coming home. Everyone seemed to know our names, remembered where we had been and asked how our day was. There was always a smile, a conversation and a sense that people genuinely cared about how we were enjoying our stay. The service was intuitive without ever being intrusive. They somehow knew when to chat, when to help and when to simply let us enjoy the peace and quiet. That warmth made all the difference. Beautiful hotels can be found in many places, but it is rare to find somewhere that makes you feel so personally welcomed and cared for. Our few days at Le Temple felt like a complete escape from the outside world. Peaceful, beautiful, thoughtful and wonderfully human. We were genuinely sad to leave. A heartfelt thank you to the entire Le Temple team for making our stay so special. We left with very happy memories and would recommend Le Temple without hesitation. We hope we have the chance to come ‘home’ again one day.
