From the magical charm of Portofino to the warmth of every smile, every detail was simply perfect. It truly felt like a honeymoon in one of the most breathtaking places in the world. The attentive and thoughtful service made my stay at Splendido Mare truly memorable. I was warmly welcomed with an early check-in, and Filippo, the Front Desk Manager, went above and beyond to arrange lunch at Splendido Grill and secure the best front-row loungers for me at Bagni Fiore Beach Club. His professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality made every arrangement effortless. I also appreciated the many complimentary benefits throughout my stay, including the shuttle service connecting all of the Belmond properties in Portofino, complimentary gelato, reserved loungers at Bagni Fiore Beach Club, and access to the pool and breakfast at the sister hotel, Splendido. These thoughtful touches elevated the experience and reflected the exceptional level of hospitality that Belmond is known for. The hotel’s location is another highlight. Situated right in the heart of Portofino, everything is within easy walking distance—from the harbour and restaurants to the village’s charming streets. I even hiked up to Castello Brown and continued on to the Portofino Lighthouse. It was quite a walk, but the breathtaking views along the way made it well worth the effort. Overall, Splendido Mare offers the perfect combination of outstanding service, thoughtful amenities, and an unbeatable location. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Portofino.

An incredible stay in the heart of Portofino. We spent 5 nights this summer at Mare and adored every moment - the staff, food, tranquility, and ease to have meals, tennis, pool, or the kids club at Splendido on the hill created a perfect mix of bustling Portofino, and a calm escape. We had our toddler with us, who loved exploring the port, and the staff went above and beyond to shower her with affection. Giussepi, Mikaela, Luca, Martina - all so wonderful. The hotel is small - barely a sitting room in its lobby, and only 25-30 guests (14 rooms) stay there, making it feel intimate and homey, but also pushing you to explore the stunning town, coves, and sister property which can be accessed via a 5 minute shuttle (which runs constantly). The shuttle also runs to their beach club, Bagni Fiore - elegant and private, even amongst the 4 other beach clubs. We loved our pesto making class, and enjoyed a quiet drink on its newly opened roof. We found the food at DaV Mare to be slightly better than Splendido Grill, though one of our best meals came from a family owned restaurant called Concordia, just a 3 minute walk from the hotel. It was a delightful surprise when they suggested they could take us around the port on their stunning boat. We can’t wait to be back.
