Stayed at the Mandarin Oriental with a friend on the 52nd floor and the room had excellent views. The hotel itself is super nice and the service and staff were top-notch throughout our stay. The restaurant also had a solid number of gluten-free options available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which was appreciated. I’ve stayed at the Langham multiple times and the Ritz as well. I haven’t stayed at the Peninsula in New York simply because the price is hard to justify. I would definitely come back to the Mandarin Oriental — we really enjoyed it. We spent most of our time in the West Village, Lower East Side, and Greenwich Village, so it was a bit of a walk or a 20–30 minute cab each way, which is just the reality of the location. In the mornings we walked through Central Park and then headed out to explore the city for the day. One nice tip: the first morning we left the hotel, turned right, then right again, and within about two minutes we were in a really nice indoor mall. I believe you can even take an elevator from inside the hotel over there (second or third floor). There was a great little breakfast spot whose name starts with a T — I can’t remember the exact name, but it was really good with excellent coffee. Kind of a surprising sleeper spot inside the mall. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

From the minute we arrived at the hotel we felt transported to a relaxing spa. The hotel has a beautiful scent filling the corridors, the flower arrangements in the lobby are stunning, along with the breathtaking Chihuly glass sculptures and entry light fixture. We were wonderfully greeted at the front desk by Lauren. She checked us in efficiently and was very pleasant to work with. Our room was a king room facing the Hudson River. It was quiet, well appointed, great lighting, comfortable pillows and bedding, we liked the soaps and lotion, the towels, robes and slippers were all very good quality. We had breakfast in bed one day and dined at the onsite restaurant one morning. The food and service were great at both. We travel a lot and stay at high end properties throughout the world. Hotels in New York can be hit or miss. This is definitely a huge hit. We will be in NYC for work again this weekend and I immediately rebooked to come back to the MO. Thank you for making our stay delightful! We will be frequent guests going forward.

We had a wonderful stay from beginning to end. The check-in process was smooth and pleasant, and the manager and staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and well accommodated. The hotel is beautiful, elegant, and offers breathtaking views that perfectly embody the sense of luxury we were looking for. The food was excellent, and everyone we encountered—from the bellmen to the lounge hostess and waitstaff—was warm, friendly, and attentive. The spa facilities are an exceptional feature that made our stay feel even more worthwhile. The highlight of our visit was my birthday dinner. The hostess thoughtfully saved a window table for us, and our server, Nate, made the celebration truly memorable with his attentive and gracious service. We left with wonderful memories and would be delighted to return.
