Lydia Hotel

The location is great. The service is great, everyone was helpful and kind, including helping me with things not directly related to my stay. I needed my bags stored for multiple days between stays and they were able to do that. My room was clean and so comfortable! It is more expensive of a place than I usually stay at but it was absolutely worth it.

A nice hotel in the middle of town, close to the university's main building. Modern rooms with comfy beds. My room was to the back, which means not much of a view but quiet. Very cosy spa area with two saunas, steam room and a massage pool. Good breakfast, although I expected something more special (and hot food not quite as cold) from a restaurant listed in the Michelin guide. Another odd thing is that there are no coffee or tea facilities in the room, you always have to go down to the reception area to help yourself. Nonetheless, by far the best hotel I have so far stayed at in Tartu. Recommended.

This hotel has a Michelin restaurant and a perfect location in Tartu. The rooms are clean and the breakfast items are very good. All of the girls at the reception are very polite, kind and attentive. The reason I am giving a 3* is because of the bad feeling left by the staff at the breakfast area (2 days). When you come to the restaurant in the morning, you expect a "good morning" , even if only responding to you. Also basic words like thank you, you are welcome, please. And it doesn't need to be in English. It is just politeness. The people at the breakfast area seems to be instructed to ignore you. The old lady at the kitchen I greeted twice and she gave me her back and walked away, nobody else looked to us and to be fair, not even to other guests, like a systematic way to be rude. They all seem to follow the bad mood of the old lady. In the morning we would think "let's go to be poorly treated again". This left a bad impression about the whole hotel.
