The Suvretta House is an absolutely incredible hotel. From the moment you walk through the doors, you're enveloped in an atmosphere of timeless elegance and genuine warmth. The service is of the highest quality, with staff who anticipate your every need and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. The food is fantastic, beautifully prepared and presented, offering a dining experience that's a highlight in itself. The setting is simply magnificent, nestled in the stunning Alpine landscape of St. Moritz with breathtaking views in every direction. The rooms are perfect, spacious, immaculate, and thoughtfully appointed with every comfort you could wish for. Spending a holiday here is nothing short of a magical experience, the kind that stays with you long after you've left. Whether you're looking to relax, explore, or simply soak in the surroundings, the Suvretta House delivers on every level. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a truly exceptional stay.

My second time at this unique hotel in St Moritz, the mythical Suvretta house. Perhaps what moves me most about Suvretta House is that this world is not preserved as a performance. It is lived. You see it in the staff. There is something profoundly touching about watching waiters who have dedicated decades of their lives to the hotel gently passing their knowledge on to younger colleagues. The old generation teaching the new, with patience, pride and warmth. Nothing feels rushed. Nothing feels rehearsed. Hospitality here is an inheritance. The same feeling extends to the guests. Families return generation after generation. Grandparents, parents and children all sharing the same traditions, the same favourite tables, the same afternoon walks, the same rituals. It gives the hotel a heartbeat that cannot be designed or manufactured. It has simply grown over more than a century. Some people become part of those memories. Giuseppe, who presides over the Lobby Bar with effortless elegance, is one of them. Always welcoming every guest with the warmest smile, he embodies that rare style of hospitality that feels both very professional, yet personal. Sitting at his bar has become one of the rituals I look forward to most. It wouldn’t quite feel like Suvretta without seeing Giuseppe there. Another familiar face is Renato, who greeted me at the station and drove me through the mountain roads to the hotel in Suvretta’s charming vintage bus, before taking me back again at the end of my stay. There is something wonderfully cinematic about beginning and ending a journey this way. Even the transfer becomes part of the story. This year also brought the discovery of the hotel’s beautiful new spa. Spacious, serene and thoughtfully designed, it offers countless quiet corners to retreat into. Every room invites you to slow down just a little more, whether between the pools, saunas or the many relaxation areas overlooking the mountains. It feels less like a spa to visit and more like a sanctuary to disappear into for an afternoon. In a world where so much luxury hospitality has become transactional, Florian the marketing manager has done something remarkably special: he has become the storyteller of Suvretta House. Through his thoughtful curation of the hotel’s imagery and its beautiful Instagram presence, he captures not only what the hotel looks like, but what it feels like. Even when I’m far away, following the changing seasons, the dinners, the flowers, the traditions and the familiar corners of the hotel brings an unexpected comfort. It is reassuring to know that somewhere, while the rest of the world rushes forward, Suvretta quietly continues its rituals exactly as it always has. Perhaps that is why I find myself returning. Not simply because it is beautiful, although it undoubtedly is. Not because of the impeccable service, the magnificent setting or the extraordinary history, although all of those deserve every compliment. I return because Suvretta House reminds me that another rhythm of life is still possible. That elegance can still be sincere. That traditions are worth preserving. That luxury is measured not by how much can be offered, but by how deeply a place can make you feel at home.

The hotel is nice in some areas, but the rooms are old and not worth the high price. There is no air conditioning, and when I asked for a fan, none were available. The hotel also does not provide an iron or steamer. I was told to send my clothes to the paid laundry service instead, which is very disappointing for a hotel at this level. Even the welcome gift came with a spoon and fork, and the fork was visibly dirty and not properly washed. The receptionist was also not welcoming or helpful. Overall, I expected much better service, cleanliness, and comfort for the price I paid.
