Hotel El Palace Barcelona

We just had the most magical Barcelona family trip! We traveled from Chicago with our 7 yr old daughter and had the best time! The room was perfect. The bed was large and comfy which is always a surprise in a European hotel. The bathroom had both a bathtub and large shower. Our daughter used the bathtub everyday after the pool! The AC was working perfectly which is always shocking if it actually works in a European hotel. We went up to the rooftop for Jamon and patatas bravas as well as swimming by the pool mid-day for a few days in a row. The rooftop is beautiful and extremely enjoyable. The service on the rooftop is a little spotty. Hard to find a waitress and sometimes they will deliver only some items that you order. But everything else was wonderful. The hotel breakfast was so good!

Visited for one night in May 2026. El Palace Barcelona is one of those classic Barcelona hotels that immediately sets a different tone the moment you walk in. Staying there for one night in May felt like stepping into a carefully preserved piece of the city’s early 20th-century elegance, but without losing the comfort expected today. The lobby makes a strong first impression: marble, chandeliers, and a quiet sense of grandeur that never feels overly staged. Service was attentive and smooth from check-in onward, with staff striking a good balance between formality and warmth. The room itself reflected the same philosophy—traditional styling, solid furnishings, and a sense of space that is increasingly rare in central Barcelona hotels. Everything felt well maintained, with particular attention to comfort and sleep quality. Even for a short stay, it was easy to settle in and disconnect from the busy streets outside. One of the highlights is the rooftop area, which offers a relaxed contrast to the hotel’s historic interior. It’s a good place to unwind in the evening, with views over the city that remind you just how central the location is.

We only spent two nights in Barcelona, but our stay at El Palace was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, everyone made us feel so welcomed and took such great care of us. The team surprised us with the most beautiful honeymoon setup in our room—a gorgeous red heart-shaped balloon, a matching heart-shaped cake (which was delicious!), and a bottle of cava. It was the sweetest surprise and made us feel so special. A huge thank you to Emmanuel for giving us such a lovely tour of the hotel and our room. It was the perfect way to start our stay. Bellmen Raul and Eloi were both so kind and helpful every time we saw them. Idalija at the concierge desk was an absolute gem. She was always so sweet and attentive, whether we were grabbing our room key, looking for restaurant recommendations, or needed help with anything at all. The hotel is also in the perfect location, within walking distance of fantastic shopping and amazing restaurants, all in a very safe neighborhood. The breakfast is an absolute must—don’t skip it! The buffet was incredible with so many delicious options, and the beautiful setting made it one of our favorite parts of each morning. We also booked a private tour of the Sagrada Família and Park Güell during our stay through El Palace, which we highly recommend! It was definitely the highlight of our stay. Thank you to the entire team for making our short stay so memorable. We can’t wait to come back to Barcelona, and when we do, we’ll definitely be staying at El Palace again!
