9Hotel Sablon

We had a wonderful stay at 9Hotel Sablon and would happily return. The staff were truly excellent — always friendly, attentive, and more than willing to go the extra mile to meet even the smallest requests. Their hospitality really made the experience special. The spa, although small, was perfect for unwinding after long days of walking in the cold, snowy winter weather. It was exactly what we needed to relax and recharge. Our room was spacious, well equipped, and very comfortable. The bed deserves a special mention — without doubt the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in, giving us the best night’s sleep of our trip. The only minor feedback would be to ensure there are sufficient bathroom amenities, as expected from a 4-star hotel. That said, this did not detract from an otherwise excellent stay. The location is ideal: just a 5–6 minute walk from Centraal Station and about 7–8 minutes from the main tourist centre. It’s perfect if you prefer exploring on foot without relying on the metro or other transport. Overall, a fantastic hotel in a great location with outstanding staff. We are already planning our next stay — thank you! 🌟

Our stay at this hotel started off on a disappointing note mainly because of the lack of hospitality from the front desk staff. After arriving from a very long flight, we were already extremely tired. When we got to reception, the staff member made us wait while continuing a phone conversation instead of acknowledging us or helping us check in, which was frustrating after such a long journey. During check-in, everything seemed to be going fine until we were asked for a credit card for the deposit. Unfortunately, we didn’t have one with us, so we explained our situation. The staff insisted on a deposit in cash, which was difficult for us because we would have to deal with exchange rates and currency conversion. We politely suggested that they could temporarily hold something like our passports and check the room the next day before returning them, but they immediately refused. We then said we would try to arrange the deposit but asked if we could quickly go to the room first to leave our bags and change our shoes after our long flight. The staff refused again without even trying to help or offer any alternative solution. Instead, we were told to go find an ATM to exchange money, which was quite far away. The hotel itself seemed fine, but the lack of flexibility and basic hospitality from the staff left a very poor first impression. After such a long trip, a little understanding and kindness would have made a big difference.
