About this experience
Tuol Sleng in Phnom Penh is a former school building that was used as a prison under the Khmer Rouge. Today the museum displays documents, photographs and testimony from that period. Cells converted from classrooms confront visitors with a heavy chapter of Cambodia's recent history.
The visit can be very emotionally heavy and is not suitable for small children. Wear simple clothes covering shoulders and knees, and be quiet and respectful. Follow the site's rules on photography.
