Climb the Sun and Moon Pyramids at Teotihuacan
Mexico City · Mexico
About this experience
At Teotihuacan, the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon rise along the Avenue of the Dead. On a wide plain, stone steps climb towards the sky, and from above you see the layout of the ancient city and the mountains around. The scale of these structures, built thousands of years ago, only sinks in once you stand beside them.
Altitude and steep steps can leave you short of breath, so rest often. Climbing rules may change, so follow the officials' guidance. There is no shade, so a hat, water and sunscreen are essential. Wear shoes with grip, as the descent can be harder than the climb.
