Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge visit on the Great Ocean Road

Melbourne · Australia

The experience

About this experience

On the Great Ocean Road coast, the limestone stacks known as the Twelve Apostles stand offshore from cliffs cut by waves. Nearby, Loch Ard Gorge is a steep-walled cove that opens onto a beach through a narrow gap. The same route shows how the sea has shaped this coastline over time.

The wind is cool, so take a windproof jacket. Early light and sunset give the best pictures of the stacks. Walks between the lookouts are short but include steps.
