Active mud volcanoes exploration in Gobustan
Baku · Azerbaijan
About this experience
Around Gobustan, south of Baku, mud volcanoes push grey mud and gas bubbles from small cones in the middle of a flat, dry plain. The slow bursting of bubbles on the surface makes the odd but harmless scene special. All of it can be watched from close by.
Mud can stain clothes, so think about closed shoes you do not mind getting dirty and a spare top. Sunglasses and a hat help against dust and wind. Do not step too close to the bubbling area.
