Athabasca Glacier Ice Explorer expedition
Jasper · Canada
About this experience
At the Columbia Icefield, you ride an Ice Explorer onto the Athabasca Glacier. These oversized wheeled vehicles sit high off the ground and drive straight onto the ice.
Once out, you walk on a sheet of ice that is 365 metres thick and has built up over some 10,000 years. Bring warm layers and sturdy shoes. The season runs from spring to autumn.
