Almaty Guide 2026
Almaty is the largest city in Kazakhstan, set in the south-east of the country at the northern foot of the Tian Shan mountains. A cable car climbs Kok Tobe hill above the city, and the Medeu ice rink and the Shymbulak ski resort lie in the mountains to the south, on the same valley road.
