Renaissance Austin

My wife and I recently stayed 5 nights at the Renaissance Austin and wanted to share some feedback about the guest room design. First, I want to say that we truly enjoyed the property. The hotel itself is beautiful, with excellent landscaping, great amenities, and a very spacious room. The overall atmosphere felt upscale, relaxing, and welcoming. The one area that really fell short for us was the room storage and wardrobe setup. Our room with two queen beds was very large, yet it lacked the basic functionality needed for guests staying more than a night or two. There was no dresser, no proper shelving, and no real closet organization system. The closet only had a few hangers and a single metal wire shelf, while much of the space was occupied by the ironing board, iron, and folding luggage rack. The room had an oversized desk and a large mirror leaning against the wall at an angle, which felt more like an afterthought than an intentional design feature. Because there were no drawers or shelves, we ended up using the second queen bed to organize our clothing, T-shirts, underwear, bras, socks, belts, and other personal items. It made an otherwise beautiful and spacious room feel surprisingly impractical. The simplest solution would have been a proper dresser with a mirror above it. That alone would have provided guests with functional storage, organization, and a proper place for getting ready or applying makeup without compromising the room’s aesthetics. Overall, we loved the hotel and would gladly stay again, but the lack of practical wardrobe storage was noticeable enough that I felt it was worth sharing.

Great location, and very well presented. Staff is wonderful. We had an issue with our reservation due to a mistake on Pricelines side, and the staff was awesome and very professional. The reason for 4 stars is the nickel and dime factor. To park in the parking lot overnight (per day) is $25 +tax as of the time of this writing. Their really isn't any other reasonable location to park, so you are stuck paying. Internet is $14.95 if you don't have an account (the account is free though). In our case for a two night stay I ended up paying $60 more than planned. Some years ago we stayed here a few times and these fees didn't exist, so I feel a certain kind of way about that. The other reason for 4 stars is due to noise. Perhaps due to the acoustics of the building as well as music being played in common areas, I could hear music it in my room at times albeit faint. Having said all that, I would recommend. It really is an excellent hotel, I hated to give 4 stars instead of 5

The property is beautiful and offers so much to do. We really enjoyed the variety of amenities having both an indoor pool and hot jacuzzi plus an outdoor pool and hot jacuzzi was a huge plus for us. There is plenty of outdoor seating which makes it easy to relax and wind down in the evenings. ​The dining on-site was also a highlight. Choza makes amazing coffee, and we really enjoyed our breakfast at The Knotty Deck & Bar. The staff throughout the hotel was excellent and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend for a comfortable and relaxing stay!
