Serengeti and Masai Mara Safari

The safari opens with entry into Serengeti, on the Tanzanian side of the route. The first drive by open safari vehicle reveals the scale of the savanna landscape straight away. Sightings of zebra and wildebeest herds are possible from the very first hours. The night is spent in the Serengeti area.

The day is given to a drive by open safari vehicle. The Great Migration, the event that made Serengeti's name known worldwide, can appear on this route depending on the season. Lion, elephant, zebra and wildebeest stay on the watch list through the day. The night is spent again in Serengeti.

The third day also unfolds within Serengeti, with a further drive by open vehicle. Moving across the wide savanna keeps wildlife within view, from a safe distance. The night closes in Serengeti, with the crossing into Kenya ahead the next day.

Day four is given to the crossing from Tanzania into Kenya, from Serengeti to Masai Mara. The two reserves belong to a single, cross border ecosystem, divided only by an administrative line. On arrival in Masai Mara, the first drive by open safari vehicle follows. The night is spent in Masai Mara.

This day, on the Kenyan side, is set aside for safari across the plains of Masai Mara. Lion, elephant, zebra and wildebeest herds remain on the watch list here. Drives by open safari vehicle bring the Kenyan side of this shared ecosystem, and the route of the Great Migration, into view. The night is spent in Masai Mara.

The last day opens with a drive by open safari vehicle. In the afternoon, departure from Masai Mara brings the Serengeti and Masai Mara safari programme to a close.
