Discover Nepal: 10-Day Himalayas Tour from Istanbul

We meet at the International Terminal of Istanbul Airport at 15:30. At 18:45, we depart on our İndigo flight to Kathmandu via Delhi. We spend the night on board.

We are met on arrival in Kathmandu at 13:05 and transferred to the hotel. After some rest, we set out around midday for a city tour. At UNESCO Durbar Square, we see the palace complex and temples from the royal era and observe daily life in the square. At Hanuman Dhoka, we explore the historic area containing the old palace buildings. At Thamel Bazaar, we get to know Nepalese life among local handicrafts, spices and souvenirs. In the evening, we gather at a local restaurant for a welcome dinner. We stay overnight at Lo Mustang Hotel 42 in Kathmandu.

Pashupatinath Temple is one of Hinduism's sacred temples. At this site on the banks of the Bagmati River, you can observe traditional funeral ceremonies. Bouddhanath Stupa is a large Buddhist temple. Here you can see prayer wheels and monks walking quietly. Bhaktapur is a historic city known for its woodcarving and protected by UNESCO. After breakfast at our hotel, we set out on a private half-day tour of Kathmandu. The Buddhist temple Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), on a hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley, is known for its stupa and panoramic city views. You can see monkeys roaming freely around the temple and monks praying. Ason Market, one of Kathmandu's local shopping areas, sells spices, textiles and fresh flowers. Here, we have the opportunity to observe everyday local life. At Kumari Garden, we view the historic residence where Kumari, Nepal's living goddess, lives from the outside. The afternoon is free time. Guests who wish can do some last-minute shopping or relax in cafés. We have dinner at the hotel. We spend the night at the 4-star Lo Mustang Hotel in Kathmandu.

Transfer by road to the mountain town of Bandipur. Bandipur is known for its traditional architecture and houses with balconies overlooking the Himalayas. Time is set aside to relax in the mountain air. In the late afternoon, take a walk in the village square and stop for tea at local cafés. Local dishes are served for dinner at the mountain hotel. Accommodation is at the 4-star The Old Inn Bandipur hotel.

After a short transfer, arrive in Pokhara. Visit Devi's Falls, which flows underground, and the sacred, naturally formed Gupteshwor Cave, which runs beneath the waterfall. Take a boat trip on Phewa Lake to reach the temple in the middle of the lake. Along the way, see the reflections of the mountains in the lake. Dinner is served by the lake with views of the scenery. Stay overnight at the 4-star Swiss International Hotel in Pokhara.

Travel by road to Chitwan National Park. Stop for lunch and a rest. During the elephant safari, ride on an elephant's back deeper into the forest. Deer, wild boar and monkeys may be seen along the way. With luck, you may also spot a rhinoceros. On a canoe tour along the Rapti River, glide quietly through the water to observe crocodiles and waterbirds. Dinner is served outdoors on the property. Stay overnight at the 4-star Green Park Chitwan.

The morning includes a nature walk and birdwatching. At the elephant care center, the elephants’ natural care and feeding routines are observed firsthand. In the evening, the Tharu Dance Show is attended. Traditional dances of the Tharu tribe, the region’s indigenous people, introduce their culture through colorful costumes and music. Dishes from Tharu cuisine are served at dinner. Accommodation is at the 4-star Green Park Chitwan hotel.

In the morning, we return to Kathmandu by road. The journey takes approximately 5 hours. After some last-minute shopping in Kathmandu and saying our goodbyes, we transfer to the airport at 16:50. At 20:50, we board our return flight with İndigo via Delhi. We spend the night on the plane.
