Morocco and Its Mysterious Cities Tour

After completing ticket and baggage procedures at the Turkish Airlines counter in the International Terminal at Istanbul Airport, we depart for Casablanca on a direct Turkish Airlines flight. Upon arrival at Casablanca Airport, we begin our city tour on the private bus waiting for us. Casablanca, one of Morocco’s major cities, owes much of its worldwide fame to the Hollywood film Casablanca, remembered for the line “Play it again, Sam.” Today, the city is an industrial and commercial centre with one of the largest ports in Africa and Morocco. On our tour, we first visit Hassan II Mosque, then continue to Muhammed V Square. After seeing Rick’s Cafe, designed with inspiration from the film Casablanca, we travel along Anfa and Zerktouni Boulevards, two of the city’s lively areas. We enjoy panoramic views of the Corniche waterfront. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel, where you have free time. Dinner and overnight accommodation are at our hotel.

After breakfast, we depart from Casablanca for Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Located on the banks of the Bou Regreg River, Rabat is surrounded by forests of eucalyptus and Portuguese cork oak trees. On our tour of Rabat, one of Morocco’s politically and historically important cities, we visit Kasbah Oudaya, Hasan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed 5. After our visit to Rabat, we depart for Fes. On arrival, we begin exploring the city’s historic areas. We walk past Bab-el Makhzen, the entrance gate to the Royal Palace, and through Mellah, the surrounding historic Jewish quarter, before continuing along the narrow, winding streets of Fes Medina. We see Attarine Madrasa, Karaouine University, considered one of the world’s oldest educational institutions, and Nejarine Square. We also explore the traditional markets selling Moroccan jewellery and copper goods. We then visit the Tannery near the Fes River, where leather is still processed using traditional methods. At the end of the tour, we transfer to our hotel in Fes. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, we depart from Fes for Marrakesh. Along the way, we pass through Morocco’s different geographical regions before reaching Marrakesh in the south of the country. On arrival, we begin our city tour with a visit to Koutubia Minaret, one of the city’s landmarks. We then head to Jmaa el Fna Square, which brings together different cultures from across Africa. The streets and shops surrounding the square, which remains lively throughout the day, offer a glimpse into daily life in the city. Known for its street performances, snake charmers and open-air restaurants, the square allows us to experience local life in Morocco up close. Its appearance changes throughout the day, and it is one of the main gathering places in Marrakesh’s social life. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel in Marrakesh for free time. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel.

After breakfast, we depart for Essaouira, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Passing through argan trees native to the region, we reach the city on the Atlantic Ocean coast. On arrival, we stop at the Argan Cooperative, where you have an opportunity to shop. We then continue exploring Essaouira, where many productions, including Orson Welles’s Othello and the series Game of Thrones, were filmed. In Essaouira, where art and culture are part of city life, we see the Mellah Jewish Quarter, the Portuguese Fortress and the Fishing Port with its blue boats. After exploring the Old Town, whose streets intersect at right angles to create an orderly, spacious layout, we return to Marakeş. Following the transfer to our hotel, you have free time. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel.

After breakfast, we begin our tour of Majorelle Garden and the city of Marakeş. Since the early 1900s, Marakeş has attracted European fashion designers, artists, musicians and adventurers, particularly the French. Today, the city continues to welcome visitors with its distinctive atmosphere. Our first stop is Majorelle Garden. Created by French painter and furniture designer Jacques Majorelle, the garden was later redesigned by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent to give it its present appearance. During our visit, we see the garden’s exotic plants and distinctive architecture and stroll through its peaceful surroundings. We then head to the historic Marakeş Medina. Walking through narrow streets, traditional shops and bustling markets, we observe the city’s cultural character and daily life. Here, we also visit herbalist and spice shops. We have the opportunity to shop for a variety of spices, aromatic herbs and products unique to Morocco. After free time for shopping, we transfer to our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel.

After breakfast, we depart for Casablanca Airport. Upon arrival at the airport, we complete baggage and check-in procedures and prepare for our return to Istanbul. After passport control and boarding procedures, we depart for Istanbul on a direct flight with Türk Hava Yolları. Our tour ends upon arrival in Istanbul.
