Twelve days that start from Istanbul with Asiana Airlines and explore two great cultures of the Far East. In Tokyo, Meiji Shrine, Tokyo Tower and Ginza are followed by a climb to Mount Fuji's 5th Station and a boat tour on Lake Ashi. Kamakura brings the Great Buddha statue and its bamboo gardens.
The Shinkansen bullet train carries the trip on to Hiroshima, where the Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome are the main stops. After Kobe's port district, day trips from Osaka to Nara and Kyoto complete the Japan leg of the route.
The second half of the trip turns to Seoul, with Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village and the tense history of the DMZ. Flights, accommodation, city tours and daily lunches are included.

01Day 1: Istanbul to Seoul
We meet at Istanbul Airport's International Terminal at 14:30. After passport and baggage procedures, we set off for Tokyo via Seoul on Asiana Airlines flight OZ 552, departing at 17:20. We spend the night on board. Flight details: OZ 552, Istanbul (IST) to Seoul (ICN), 17:20 to 09:35 the following day.
02Day 2: On to Tokyo via Seoul
We land in Seoul at 09:35 local time. After a short wait, flight OZ 106 departs at 15:35 and lands at Tokyo Narita Airport at 17:55. We transfer to our hotel by private vehicle and check in. Accommodation: Shinjuku Washington Hotel (3-star) or similar.
03Day 3: Tokyo City Tour
After breakfast our Tokyo tour begins: Meiji Shrine, a panoramic view from Tokyo Tower, the National Diet Building, and Ginza, the centre of luxury. Lunch: Traditional flavours at a local restaurant. Accommodation: Tokyo.
04Day 4: Mount Fuji and Hakone
We climb to the 5th Station of Mount Fuji, Japan's iconic symbol. We then enjoy a boat tour on Lake Ashi. Lunch: A regional menu at a local restaurant. Accommodation: Tokyo.
05Day 5: Kamakura's Great Buddha
We travel to the historic city of Kamakura on the Pacific coast. We visit the Great Buddha (Daibutsu) statue and the mystical Bamboo Garden at Hokoku-ji. Lunch: At a local restaurant. Accommodation: Tokyo.
06Day 6: To Hiroshima by Shinkansen
At 08:30 we travel by Shinkansen bullet train to Hiroshima. We visit the Peace Memorial Park, its museum, and the Atomic Bomb Dome. Lunch: The famous Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki at a local restaurant. Accommodation: Hiroshima.
07Day 7: Kobe to Osaka
We continue to the port city of Kobe. After visiting Meriken Park and the historic Kitano-cho district, we arrive in Osaka. Lunch: At a local restaurant. Accommodation: Osaka.
08Day 8: Nara and Kyoto Tour
We visit Nara Park, known for its deer, and Todai-ji Temple, home to the Great Buddha. We then see the gold-leafed Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion. Lunch: At a local restaurant. Accommodation: Osaka.
09Day 9: Osaka to Seoul
In the morning we transfer to the airport. Flight OZ 1135 departs for Seoul at 11:10. After arriving at 13:00 we take a city tour of Seoul, including Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bukchon Hanok Village. Lunch: Korean cuisine at a local restaurant. Accommodation: Seoul.
10Day 10: The DMZ Tour
We take a tour of the DMZ, one of the world's most striking border lines. We view North Korea from the Third Infiltration Tunnel and Dora Observatory. Lunch: At a local restaurant. Accommodation: Seoul.
11Day 11: Free Day in Seoul
A free day in Seoul for shopping and personal exploration. You can visit Gangnam, Myeongdong or N Seoul Tower. Accommodation: Seoul.
12Day 12: Seoul to Istanbul
Early in the morning we transfer to Incheon Airport. Flight OZ 551 departs at 09:35 and lands in Istanbul at 15:40. Flight details: OZ 551, Seoul (ICN) to Istanbul (IST), 09:35 to 15:40.
