Explore Chile: Atacama & Patagonia 10-Day Tour

We meet with Ejder Turizm representatives at the International Terminal of Istanbul Airport. After completing check-in, passport control and baggage procedures, we depart from IST for South America at 19:40 with Türk Hava Yolları. With 1 connection in São Paulo (GRU), we arrive in Santiago (SCL), the capital of Chile, at 08:30 (+1). This flight marks the first part of our Atacama and Patagonia trip, which will begin in the foothills of the Andes. We spend the night on board. Meals and refreshments provided by the airline will be served during the flight.

After arrival at Santiago Airport at 08:30, passport control and baggage collection are completed. We meet our local guide and transfer to the city centre. Airport, hotel and local transfers are provided as part of the programme. Due to the early arrival, the day begins with a panoramic tour of Santiago, following the programme schedule. With our guide, we see Plaza de Armas, the historic government building La Moneda Palace (from the outside), the main streets of the city centre and Santiago's modern districts. There are short photo stops during the tour. Our guide provides detailed information about the geography, culture and daily life of Santiago, which lies at the foot of the Andes Mountains. Free time is provided around midday. Guests can spend time at nearby restaurants or rest. Later, we transfer to the hotel and check in. There is free time to rest after the long journey. Overnight stay at a 3-star city hotel in Santiago.

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Valparaiso, located on the Pacific coast and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We arrive in Valparaiso after a journey of approximately 1,5 hours. Known for its colorful houses, arts scene and historic elevators, this port city is one of South America's distinctive cities. During the tour, we explore its narrow streets, street art on the walls and hills offering panoramic views of the city. We take a short ride on the historic funiculars (elevators), among Valparaiso's landmarks, to see the city from different angles. Our guide shares detailed information about the city's culture, arts scene and port history. After the tour, we have lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the Pacific Ocean. In the afternoon, we continue to Viña del Mar, known as the modern side of the region. On a panoramic tour of this area, called the Garden City, we see the coastline, the Flower Clock and viewpoints overlooking the ocean. We return to Santiago in the late afternoon. There is free time after arrival at the hotel. We stay at a 3-star city hotel in Santiago. The day's meals are breakfast and lunch.

Check out of the hotel early in the morning and transfer to Santiago Airport. The domestic flight with local airlines departs from Santiago at 06:30 and arrives in Calama at 08:40. The Atacama Region in northern Chile is known as the world's driest desert. After being met at Calama Airport, travel by road for approximately 1 hour to the town of San Pedro de Atacama. Transfer to the hotel and complete check-in. The first half of the day is free time to rest and adjust to the area's altitude of approximately 2.400 m. In the afternoon, take a tour of Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley). During the tour, see salt formations, rocks shaped by the wind and desert landscapes. At sunset, watch the landscape of Atacama take on red and golden tones. Then return to the hotel to rest. Stay at a 3-star boutique hotel in San Pedro de Atacama. Breakfast is provided.

Early in the morning, at approximately 04:30, you are picked up from the hotel and depart for the El Tatio Geyser Field in private vehicles. The journey takes approximately 2 hours. The El Tatio Geysers are located approximately 4.300 metres above sea level, in one of the world's highest geothermal fields. Columns of steam rising at sunrise are among Atacama's natural features. At sunrise, you visit the active geyser field. You observe steam eruptions and geothermal formations as the guide explains them. A light breakfast with tea or coffee is served in the area during the tour. After the visit, the return journey to lower elevations begins. There are short stops and breaks to enjoy the views along the way. You return to the hotel around noon. The rest of the day is free time. Guests who wish can spend time in town, relax at cafés or stay at the hotel. Accommodation is at a 3-star + boutique hotel in San Pedro de Atacama. Breakfast is included and provided in a box / served during the tour.

Departure from Calama (CJC) is scheduled for 08:20, with arrival in Puerto Montt (PMC) at 14:38 via Santiago (SCL). The flight takes a total of 6-7 hours with 1 connection. Early in the morning, we check out of the hotel and transfer to Calama Airport. We fly with LATAM Airlines via Santiago to Puerto Montt in southern Chile, a gateway to the Patagonia region. Upon arrival in Puerto Montt in the afternoon, we are met and transferred to the hotel in the city centre. After checking in and settling into our rooms, we take a short rest after the long journey. Dinner is served at the hotel or a local restaurant. The rest of the day is set aside for rest and free time. We stay in a 3-star / 3-star+ city hotel in Puerto Montt (Hotel Don Luis / Gran Pacifico or similar). The meal provided for the day is dinner.

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart from Puerto Montt in private vehicles with a guide for a full-day tour of the natural areas of Chilean Patagonia. Our route includes Puerto Varas, Petrohué and Osorno Volcano. Passing through Puerto Varas, we take a short panoramic tour along the shores of Lake Llanquihue. We then visit Petrohué Waterfalls in Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park. Here, we see turquoise waters flowing between volcanic rocks. After visiting the waterfalls, we head up towards the foothills of Osorno Volcano. From panoramic viewpoints, we photograph the snow-covered summit and cone shape of this volcano in the Andes. Guests who wish can take an optional chairlift ride to higher viewpoints for a bird's-eye view of Patagonia. During the tour, there is free time around Lake Todos los Santos and an opportunity to take a nature walk. We spend this part of the day enjoying lake views, peaceful natural surroundings and fresh air. Lunch is at your own expense at local restaurants in the area. In the late afternoon, we return to Puerto Montt and arrive at the hotel. The rest of the day is set aside for rest. We stay at a 3-star + city hotel in Puerto Montt.

Early in the morning, you check out of the hotel and transfer to Puerto Montt Airport. The direct flight with LATAM Airlines departs from Puerto Montt (PMC) at 06:31 and arrives in Santiago (SCL) at 08:15. On arrival in Santiago, you are met and transferred to the hotel in the city centre. After reaching the hotel, you have free time until check-in. Early check-in may be possible, subject to availability. The rest of the day is free time. Guests may explore the city centre, go shopping or spend time in Santiago's cafés and restaurants. The evening is also free time, or you may have dinner independently. Overnight accommodation is at a 4-star city hotel in Santiago (Novotel Santiago / DoubleTree by Hilton or similar). Breakfast is included in the meal plan.

Early in the morning, check out of the hotel and transfer to Santiago Airport. After passport and baggage procedures are completed, the return journey to Istanbul begins on the 10:15 flight departing from Santiago (SCL) with Türk Hava Yolları. The journey continues via São Paulo (GRU) with 1 connection. Overnight on board. Meals and refreshments provided by the airline are served during the flight.

Following the flight with Türk Hava Yolları, we arrive at Istanbul Airport. After passport control and baggage collection, the Chile - Atacama - Patagonia Tour comes to an end.
