Waldorf Astoria New York

I took my mother to New York City to celebrate her 65th birthday, and as first-time guests at the Waldorf Astoria, our experience was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we arrived, the entire team went above and beyond to make the milestone unforgettable. The first-class hospitality started right at the curb with Joe, who gave us a warm welcome and took excellent care of our luggage. Checking in was just as seamless thanks to Miriam at the front desk, who gave us a wonderful tour of the property and surprised us with the best room possible for our celebration—even with the hotel being extremely booked from the tennis tournament over the previous days. Our housekeeper, Kilsing, was exceptionally professional; every single time we returned to our room, it felt completely brand new, no matter what time of day it was. We also ran into Gordon several times throughout the hotel, and he was consistently helpful with directions and personally made sure we got exactly where we needed to go. The dining experiences throughout the property were phenomenal: * Peacock Alley: An iconic, beautiful setting that set the tone for our trip. * Lex Yard: Ken provided unmatched expertise and attentive service that made our meal truly standout. * Yoshoku: Jimmie was an exceptional server who made our dinner feel extra special. We finished off the trip at the Guerlain Wellness Spa, where every single member of the staff was excellent, leaving us feeling completely relaxed and energized before our departure. Every detail of our first visit reflected genuine luxury and top-tier service. We wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else in NYC and already look forward to returning!

My daughter and I had a little staycation here, and it was such a lovely experience. We were upgraded to a room with a view overlooking Park Ave, which made the stay feel extra special. The staff were warm, courteous, and genuinely helpful. Service throughout was excellent. Our room was spacious and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Once I laid down, I truly didn’t want to get up. The biggest surprise, in a good way, was breakfast. We ordered in-room dining because we didn’t feel like getting dressed to go downstairs, and I wasn’t expecting much. But the food was actually very good. It was a bit pricey, but the portions were generous. It took a little longer than expected to arrive and one salad was missing, but they brought it up after we called. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality. There was also a small billing issue after checkout, which they resolved quickly. After we left, I realized I had forgotten my AirPods, and they located them within about 10 minutes of me reaching out. I was impressed by how quickly they handled it. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay, and I would definitely come back.

The Waldorf Astoria is, by far, my favorite hotel in New York City. Its location is unbeatable, the lobby is absolutely stunning, and the level of hospitality is second to none. A special thank you to Robert, the Sales Manager, who is one of the most professional, respectful, and genuinely hospitable people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. His attention to detail and warm welcome make every stay even more memorable. The rooms are consistently spotless, and I love how thoughtfully designed they are. The modern technology—such as the automatic curtains that open and close at the touch of a button—adds both luxury and convenience, a feature that many other five-star hotels still lack. Throughout the hotel, staff members are always attentive, proactively offering directions and checking whether guests need anything. My only recommendation for future guests is to request a room that does not face Park Avenue if you’re a light sleeper. Traffic noise and occasional honking can be heard from those rooms. Other than that, every stay has been exceptional, and I look forward to returning.
