What guests say.
We are a family of four with two teenagers. The family suite was perfect. A double bed with two single beds and lots of space to be able to move around and store our luggage. But dresser was nice so we could unpack from our suitcases for the week. The atmosphere is lovely and very authentic Scottish experience. The rooms were quiet and well appointed with coffee tea hot chocolate and cookies each day and housekeeping did an amazing job keeping the room tidy. We were here in a heat wave and did find the room a little warm at night, but a fan was provided and opening the windows helped.
Nice place to land, but definitely needs some upgrades. Carpet is worn and it was incredibly hot the nights we stayed (no ac and the windows don't allow much air flow). The bed was comfortable.
We booked this and like all old buildings with hotels, it is a bit of a rabbit warren. The room we had was spaceous, the beds were comfortable and we were on the B floor. Nothing to see, but cool in the hot weather. The bar was just up the stairs from the room and frequently open. The Breakfast was fantastic, getting the Full Scottish. We were close to the Royal Mile ( but it was all up hill). We will stay again.
