Sercotel HMO Martina

After an 8 hour drive from Barcelona, all my wife & I want to do was check in and sleep. We arrived at 08:00 pm and had to wait roughly 12 minutes to check in. Complementary water in the lobby was empty too. ( other cheaper Hotels offered it at all times) Once I got into my room, it was all down hill. The suite that I stayed in on the 14th floor has a window that was not secured shut properly. The wind coming in made an extremely loud whistle noise. This made it impossible to sleep if I had to. Also the windows are not lockable, so If you have any children, this is an extremely Hazardous issue. ⚠️ Installing these windows used to be one of my jobs back in the day and I can say that it’s extremely poor work. There are even marks of scotch tape by previous tenants, this shows that this issue has been there for quite some time which is unacceptable for a 4 star hotel, nevertheless a suite. I then went down to reception to complain and they gave us another smaller room which was hot. After waiting for an HOUR I went down again to complain and she said that the A/C is deactivated and that she would now activate it as the control is from the reception. So why would that not be the first thing to do when handing me the keys to the new room is beyond my logic🤷🏻‍♂️. It’s now 9pm and I wait another whole hour and it’s still hot. By 10:00pm I’m walking back and forth between rooms so that I could cool down in the old room whilst waiting for the new room to also cool down which it never did. The whole building is just old with dirty carpets in the hallway. I ended up renting an apartment the same night for cheaper and it was a hundred times better than this place. After reaching that apartment , it was now 11:00pm at night and a total of 11hours of being on the road. The rooms in this hotel did not even have completely bottled water! The fire alarms 🚨 went off 3 times in the duration of the 2 hours that we were there. God knows how many more throughout the night when we had left. The staff were understaffed and wearing many hats at the reception. No sense of apology or partial refund was even offered for the inconveniences. Overall one of the worst places Ive been to from many countries and places around the world. Not worth the money at all ! Definitely not a 4 star hotel. More like hostel treatment.

I found my stay at the hotel really great, like the service from the receptionists who were always there for us, at the cafe in the terrace, the wiew was so beautiful. for the garage it is a really good solution to have it underground and even if it costs 20 euros, the service was really good and it was only for the hotel's customers

Clean, comfortable, great value for the money.but definitely not a 4 stars hotel. The staff at upstairs lounge/bar could definitely be friendlier, a couple sun beds up there would be great too, since the pool is indoors there was no opportunity to tan. Also indoor pool was way too hot, no ventilation, impossible to use. Rooms, depending on the layout, feel very cramped with very little room to move around. Luckily we had to move to a different room due to a leak in the bathroom, and the layout was slightly better. Very disappointing breakfast. Not anywhere close to a luxury hotel. And finally , for a hotel that claims to be a 4 star hotel, we could at least have coffee makers in the room, it would be so welcome.
