Scandic Triangeln

The Scandic Triangeln was a wonderful stay, conveniently located less than 5 minutes from the Triangeln train station. The hotel is a 15-20 minute walk from dozens of great restaurants and is only steps away from the shopping mall at Triangeln. The common facilities were clean, breakfast was delicious & filling, and I especially appreciated the sauna on the top floor. The staff were incredibly friendly and multilingual. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Malmö.

Unfortunately, I had an unsatisfactory stay for the large majority of my time there. I had no Wi-Fi (poor strength, couldn’t even scroll, let alone take work calls) and when I went down and informed them of this, nothing could be done. The next morning, when I asked if they could change my room because I needed to take a work call, they finally provided an alternative network I could join, which did work, but there was no reason the attendant the day before couldn’t have offered that same solution. There’s no excuse to not have working Wi-Fi in 2026, or to have Wi-Fi so weak you can’t do anything with it. It’s especially annoying when it was one of the few amenities listed as included on the booking page. Furthermore, when I ran the bath, it came out discolored brown, as you can see in the pictures I’ve uploaded. They did provide a small discount for this - around 10% of that day’s rate - which I didn’t find very generous, but I didn’t want to push the issue any further. Finally, when I arrived at the room, it almost felt decommissioned. There was fluff/lint on the ground, and small touches like the sofa cushions just weren’t done properly (just chucked to the side on a table). Even though the hotel wasn’t fully booked, I got the impression it was either poor housekeeping or a room that hadn’t been fully finished. On the positive side, the location is excellent, they’re dog-friendly, the view is great, and the sauna is great. But honestly, the negatives - both of which could have been resolved faster and with more generous compensation - make it hard to justify choosing this as a first pick in Malmö when there are other hotels in the same price range, such as the Clarion Malmö Live and the Elite Esplanade Hotel.

I stayed at this hotel during the Internet i fokus conference 2026. The conference itself was also hosted at the hotel. Room: the hotel itself is fairly nice but it feels like a standard hotel. My room had a wonderful view of the clocktower, was clean and the bed and bedding was comfortable. However decor is outdated and old, scuffed chairs. There was no kettle, no tea and no Nespresso machine which tends to be standard in this type of hotel. Staff were friendly across the hotel. Conference rooms: the meeting room where the conference was hosted was a good size, with four good sized screens and a fairly nice stage setup. It lacked things like a speaker screen but was good overall. Conference lunch: a special mention for this as the conference lunch was a fantastic spread of breads and salads. Hats off to the fantastic chefs who clearly put a lot of effort in. It's the best conference lunch I've had, and suprassed all others. Breakfast: breakfast selection was great. A better coffee would improve things. Gym: the gym was small but has a nice view over the city. I used the rowing machine and weights. There are also running machines, bikes and striders. The best thing about the hotel was wonderful city views as rooms are on high floors, it's very walkable to everything in Malmö and just two minutes from the direct train to and from Copenhagen airport, and there's a great coffee shop right by it.
