Retro Riverside Wellness Resort

We had an absolutely wonderful and exceptionally beautiful stay at Retro Riverside Wellness Resort near Karlovy Vary. Everything was perfect from the very warm and friendly welcome to the extremely clean and comfortable rooms. The hotel is wonderfully quiet, beautifully located, and offers a fantastic view. All staff members were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful, and everyone spoke either English or German, which made our stay very easy and pleasant. The restaurant was excellent and we can recommend it without any hesitation. The service was always very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was also fantastic, especially the freshly prepared egg dishes as well as the freshly brewed tea and coffee. We also used the massage services, and the massages were exceptionally professional. The staff there were also very friendly, and the whole experience was excellent. The pool and spa area were extremely clean, quiet, and very well equipped — we really enjoyed spending time there. The housekeeping service was extremely thorough and the rooms were always spotless. Overall, we had a wonderful time and felt completely comfortable throughout our stay. Retro Riverside Wellness Resort is truly worth a trip. We will definitely come back and thanks again to all the wonderful staff!

The hotel is beautiful and the location is awesome. The staff is very friendly but unfortunately very unprofessional, too. For example, I booked a two room apartment but they changed my booking to one double room. So I had to sleep on the couch. I booked a massage for two people and last minute they told me that they can provide only one massage. AC does not work. I could add more examples. In summary, this is not what I have expected from a five star hotel in this price range.

Great location, great facility. Unfortunately there are big problems with the service in general, I’m listing what I experienced in only 1 night stay. 1. It is impossible to speak with a human - even trying to reach the reception from the room phone is not doable. There is an annoying AI service which will continue to tell you that someone will soon reach out. 2.there was not hot water in the room and since I found it out at midnight, and it’s not possible to reach out via phone the receptionist, I was not able to solve it as I didn’t want to go downstairs personally 3. Internet password was not provided during the check in and the AI assistant is not able to provide it via phone - same problem as previous issue. Found out at midnight - no way to communicate with a human via phone, no internet for the night. 4. Dinner / restaurant is supposed to run till 22:00 - I checked it at 21:25 and I was told that there was no service anymore 5. Same applies with wellness. I was told that it was too late for it, but we just wanted a quick swim in the pool. Not possible. 6. There is no A/C, which is fine for most of the time in this area of Czech Republic, not when I arrived with 38 degrees It’s a pity because as I said the the hotel itself is beautiful and the lady looked friendly at the reception. But such problems are not acceptable for this kind of hotels.
