Quality Inn Winslow I-40

I stopped here overnight after looking at their website. The website does not even come close to describing this tired, dirty, and dilapidated inn. I have to say I’m somewhat shocked they are still allowed to operate under the Quality Inn name. The common areas were filthy, glass doors cracked and not working. The staircase treads are no longer glued down, it’s an accident waiting to happen (injury attorneys would call it an attractive nuisance). The staff were outstanding. Friendly, engaging, and very knowledgeable about the town. The desk clerk recommended a place for dinner, Relic Road, which made the stay more than worthwhile. My room was very clean, worn but very clean.

Dirty, everything was dirty. Windows havent been wiped down in years-seriously dont even open your drapes, the windows are horrid. Outside security door doesn't latch. Ice machine-broken. Soda vending machine-broken. Other vending machine-broken. Rundown neighborhood. No place to walk dogs (they allow dogs-which might be the only redeeming feature of this hotel ) Should have just slept in my car. (Oh, one last thing....for a "no smoking" hotel, the hallways reeked of weed.)

Front desk was very kind, courteous and professional but… Pool out of service. Ice machine out of service. Vending machine out of service. Hallway smells of weed. Back door broken - safety issue. The kicker? No hot water which was an issue after spending the day at the Grand Canyon. **UPDATE** There was hot water in the morning. Limited breakfast options.
