Novotel Annecy Centre Atria

Loved our stay! We stop here often to have dinner as we take the train to and from Annecy for work, they serve late, the food is good, the staff are always super nice. First time staying at the hotel on a mix of business / leisure and it was one of the quietest I’ve been in (doubled windows, not double paned glass, but the actual windows are doubled) so despite being above the train tracks we heard nothing. That may have been a more recent addition but 0 noise for me and I’m a very sensitive sleeper. The blackout curtains are excellent 👌 The room was spacious, big windows, a work area (that we used and appreciated) and separate toilets (thank you!), that’s a plus. It’s super clean, the bed is comfy, the decor is new. The bath products are form Rituals which is appreciated (it’s real shampoo/ conditioner 🙏). My only small complaint: I could have done with a better pillow, they’re a bit hard and shape is weird. Note Novotel : just order regular 50x70 pillows next time. 2 per person, a feather fill that’s softer and a microfiber that’s harder. Breakfast on a Sunday was huge so not sure about the one review sighting “average breakfast” I thought it was more than average and really good savory options my keto diet appreciated. The hotel is very family friendly, there’s a large table foot in the lobby and there’s a gym but we didn’t check it out, next time ! You’re very centrally located, a short 10 minute walk to the lake and since Annecy is just gorgeous, you HAVE to get out and see the city. Travel tip : just park in the Parking de la Gare, for whatever reason it’s cheaper than the Novotel parking (keep right rather than turning left in the underground parking). Overall great stay 👍

Bad experience for 1st night at this hotel: - Rooms are small for the price compared to other hotels. - restaurant food looks great on the menu but is really average, don't go eat there (We took the Faux filet 31€, expected something better) our kids pasta tasted better.. - parking is expensive and you have to go outside to enter the parking. Not convenient when you have a lot suitcase or kids) for the price, you expect a decent parking. - Train station is super close, so close that you feel like they are actually in your room... even at night. - had a rude (older American) customer who actually looked for a fight when we (our family with a 3yo and a baby) were standing at the reception. I understand they're uneducated people all over the world but the guy at the reception was just useless. He came to me and said I'm so sorry for what happened.. guess what he said to the other guy...? same thing of course.. anyway 1st time this happened. It was just adding an extra layer to our wonderful stay in this hotel.. (Something minor but I'll say at ass well, some bugs in our room where found. For a 4 star hotel...) Can't wait for day 2..

I was hoping for a much better service, having been to other Novotels. Breakfast is sloppy (not enough tables, slow service and lack of basic things like mugs and water), the room for a family with two small kids was very small, the parking costs a fortune and it's very tight (with an X1 I barely passed the barrier). Position us ok, not too far from the old town and looks m lake. I give one star for service because my daughter forgot a stuffed animal in our room and it "magically disappeared". Despite calling and going back to retrieve it, it was not found: either they really didn't care to search, or someone from the personnel found it and kept it. I know it's a personal experience but in all honesty I cannot give a better review after spending almost 700 euros for two nights
