Mercure Oostende

Room is size is a bit smaller than my expectations but is very clean. Toilet is also very clean as well. Location is perfect surrounding by restaurants. No parking available at the hotel which is a huge draw back but understandable at city center, options are nearby paid underground parking. For free parking spaces you need to go 1km away near the coach parking, but very busy there. Breakfast is good with selections of cheese and Ham etc, can’t expect too fancy with a small restaurant.

Terrible service. I booked a double room with breakfast included. The next day, my wife and I got up to go get breakfast.When we were surprised by a lady saying that we would not be entitled to breakfast. Taking the meadow my wife asked us questions. She asked which room we were staying in. I mistakenly forgot the room and without thinking, I said that it might be 218. But she quickly suspected that we were staying in secret at the hotel.She quickly went to reception to say that we weren't staying at the hotel. But before she left, I had already given my name since they have our registration information.After they checked that I was entitled to breakfast, they didn't even apologize for the embarrassment. On the same day, I took my suitcase and my wife and we left, leaving the daily rate paid without even questioning it, because of the embarrassment of them claiming that we did not have a reservation. And we couldn't even have coffee there. But I had my reservation with my wife and also went straight to breakfast. I don't recommend the hotel to anyone. I usually only stay at Mercure hotels, but with this embarrassment, I am totally disappointed.

I booked a room with a street view, but upon arrival I was given a very small room facing a stone wall. When I asked to change it, I was told I would need to pay an extra €30. The hotel is in a good location, close to the beach and shops, which is a plus. However, the room did not match what I had booked, which was disappointing.
