La Scalinatella

La Scalinatella made our Capri stay very memorable overall. We stayed for 4 nights and the cleanliness was excellent — housekeeping came twice a day, and the room was always spotless, which we really appreciated. The concierge team was incredibly helpful, especially with boat reservations, restaurant bookings, and shopping recommendations. A special thank you to Luigi, who was fantastic — knowledgeable, attentive, and gave us truly great recommendations throughout our stay. There are, however, a few areas that could be improved. Breakfast was okay, but honestly not what we expected in terms of quality and variety. We also didn’t enjoy the food from the restaurant by the beach. Another point for improvement would be providing an iron in the room. While pressing/cleaning service is available, not having an in-room iron felt a bit inconvenient. That said, the service, cleanliness, and concierge experience were outstanding, and we had a wonderful stay overall.

I genuinely do not even know where to begin. From the moment my wife and I arrived at La Scalinatella, the level of hospitality, professionalism and attention to detail has been unlike anything we have experienced during our time in Capri. After seeing the property, experiencing the service and waking up to this extraordinary view, I can sincerely say that for us, there is simply no other hotel in Capri that combines this level of service with a view like this. What makes La Scalinatella so special is that the service does not feel rehearsed or transactional. The entire team seems to genuinely care about the guest experience, right down to details that many hotels would consider too small to matter. Whether it was assisting with something minor missing from the room, trying to arrange even an extra small bottle of ketchup, helping my wife with her bag, assisting with room-service requests, or simply making sure that everything was exactly as we needed it, the response was consistently immediate, warm and professional. It is the smallest details that often reveal the true quality of a hotel, and La Scalinatella has impressed us repeatedly in exactly this way. I would especially like to recognize Ms. Giulia and the entire Concierge Team. I needed assistance with an important personal matter during my stay, and Ms. Giulia handled it with exceptional care, discretion and professionalism, coordinating everything seamlessly and personally making sure that what I needed reached my room. I am extremely grateful to her. What impressed me even more is that this standard is not limited to the concierge. The same attitude extends through the entire hotel — concierge, room service, housekeeping and every member of the team we have encountered. There seems to be a genuine culture here of wanting to help the guest, rather than simply completing a request. And then there is the property itself. The view from our room is truly breathtaking. Sitting on the terrace overlooking the Mediterranean, with Capri and the sea stretching out in front of us, is something photographs simply cannot fully capture. Combined with the peaceful atmosphere, elegance of the hotel and extraordinary service, it creates an experience that is very difficult to compare with anywhere else. Luxury hotels can have beautiful rooms, beautiful locations and beautiful views. What separates the truly exceptional ones is the people. La Scalinatella has both. An extraordinary location, one of the most beautiful views imaginable, and most importantly, a team that understands hospitality at the highest level. My deepest appreciation to Ms. Giulia, the entire Concierge Team, room service, housekeeping and everyone at La Scalinatella who has taken care of my wife and me. Even the smallest request has been treated as though it mattered, and that is something we will remember long after leaving Capri. The management should be extremely proud of this team. They represent the hotel exceptionally well and are the reason a beautiful property becomes an unforgettable experience. La Scalinatella has genuinely set a new standard for us in Capri. This hotel is our favorite in this Italy trip. A truly special stay. The views from our room were stunning — you wake up to the sea. The room itself is beautifully designed with real character, not the generic luxury hotel look you see everywhere. We were pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade upon arrival, which set the tone for the entire stay. Dominic was exceptional throughout — attentive, thoughtful, and never overdoing it. He struck that perfect balance of being there when you need him and giving you space when you don’t. Julia was incredibly helpful with concierge recommendations and made planning our time on the island effortless.
