La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Tucumcari

A good mid-price range option. Pros: Conveniently close to interstate but not directly on the main road so traffic noise wasn't too obvious. The rooms are clean. Mattresses are comfortable and ours didn't have those divots that develop over time with use. Bathroom was in good shape with a nice big counter to spread out on. Late night fast food option and convenience store a short walk across the parking lot. I liked that the room had a small refrigerator (no freezer so I couldn't refreeze my ice pack), microwave, and coffee maker. Staff was nice. Noticed some people with dogs, so it's pet friendly. Cons: Beds are a bit tall so if you're vertically challenged it can be a little hard to get in. Went to two of the three floors and the vending was just a soda machine that was out of order (on both floors!?). The little mini shop by the front desk was also almost out of beverages, but did have some junk food.

Stopped here after driving for 15hrs. No reservation, they got me right in. In less than 5 minutes, pretty nice. The bed was super comfy and quite rooms. If I had one gripe it would be the breakfast, but its free, so I guess you dont have to eat it. Nothing was labeled and the only beverages were coffee and water. Other than that, everyone was super friendly.

Excellent service! Thank you so much for letting us use the restrooms even if we are not staying in the hotel. We are charging in the nearby TESLA charging station located in Holiday Inn but the front desk at That hotel won’t let us use the rest room and told us to walk in the nearby Circle K to use the restroom. Good thing the one at the front desk of La Quinta is so nice and welcoming. We will surely try booking La Quinta in our next staycation because of their excellent service.
