Hyatt Regency Belgrade

I needed a day-use room here as I had a flight out of Belgrade at midnight. Gordana in Reservations explained that the Hyatt doesn’t offer day-use rooms, but she generously offered me a discounted rate on a standard room and allowed me to check in early. She made the entire process incredibly easy and went above and beyond to accommodate me. I had lunch at the Metropolitan restaurant and highly recommend the tenderloin. It was probably the best steak I’ve had in the Balkans. It was cooked perfectly and incredibly tender - something that can be surprisingly difficult to find in Serbia. I then spent the afternoon at the spa, where I had a deep-tissue massage from a fantastic therapist who was clearly very well trained. She immediately noticed that my calves were inflamed after several days of walking around 20,000 steps a day, and the massage made an enormous difference. I left feeling significantly better after just one session. What stood out most to me was how competent the entire staff is. Every person I encountered clearly knew what they were doing, was attentive without being intrusive, and handled everything with professionalism and ease. An excellent experience from start to finish. Well done!

A mixed experience: Great amenities, but unacceptable security restrictionsMy stay at the Hyatt Regency Belgrade started with many positive impressions, but ended with a major disappointment regarding guest treatment.On the positive side, the hotel staff is very polite and professional. Housekeeping does a great job—the room was regularly cleaned, towels were changed daily, and trash cans were emptied consistently. The breakfast is a buffet style; while the selection remains the same every day, the items can be easily combined to make it satisfying. The indoor pool is clean and decent, although the water is quite cold. The changing rooms are exceptionally comfortable and well-equipped with everything you might need, including cotton swabs, clean towels, bathrobes, slippers, and hairdryers. There is also a warm jacuzzi, and each changing room features both a separate steam bath and a Finnish sauna.However, the second day completely ruined the experience. Without any prior notice or warning, the hotel hosted a high-profile international event (such as a high-security political or diplomatic delegation gathering, akin to the security levels seen during the Belgrade Security Conference). Suddenly, metal detectors and security scanners appeared at the entrance.We were no longer treated as paying hotel guests enjoying a peaceful stay, but rather like suspects or criminals. Police officers were stationed right on the stairs leading to the hotel, and we had to wait up to 10 minutes just to be let inside—even though we were registered guests carrying active room keys as proof of identity. Having our freedom of movement restricted and being subjected to severe security checks in the very place we rented for rest and personal comfort, without a single word of warning from management, feels completely unacceptable and unlawful.While the physical facilities and basic service are up to standard, this lack of transparency and disregard for paying guests leaves a very bitter taste. I cannot recommend a stress-free stay until the management learns to respect its guests' basic rights and privacy.

I booked a day SPA package including a partial massage, and I have to say that the massage was one of the best I’ve ever had. The massage therapist was excellent, very kind and professional, and the reception staff were also welcoming and helpful throughout my visit. However, I was quite disappointed with the cleanliness of the pool area, particularly the jacuzzi. There was visible mold above the waterline, as well as some moss growing around the area. A few of the windows were also noticeably dirty. In addition, the number of sun loungers was very limited. After 5 p.m., the area became overcrowded, and guests were hovering around waiting for loungers to become available, which made the experience uncomfortable. I understand that I was visiting as a day guest rather than a hotel guest, but considering the day pass costs €99, I believe a higher standard should be expected. I was also informed that fresh fruit would be included, yet apart from apples, there was no other fruit available. Another downside was the lack of a designated snack or dining area, aside from two chairs located near the men’s changing room. Finally, as this is meant to be a SPA and relaxation area, it was disappointing that there were guests loudly talking across the jacuzzi and no staff members present to remind guests to respect the quiet atmosphere. Overall, while the massage itself was outstanding, the overall SPA experience unfortunately did not fully meet expectations.
