Howard Johnson Hotel and Convention Center by Wyndham

We stayed overnight after visiting a road trip, visiting Chaco Culture NHP and on our way home to AZ. This is a big hotel. I could see its glorious days in the past. Rooms are renovated and very comfortable. We stayed here for free using Wyndham Rewards Points but even you pay for it, it's a great great value for overnight stay. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider it for our future road trip. There is a $2.5 charge from the city of Gallup.

The room was great seems to be recently updated. Clean, and well maintained.The breakfast selection was limited and did not seem to monitored by employee when we were there. Breakfast area tables had painted tops and the surface was tacky. Need a coat of clear sealant. The machines inthe breakfast area need to be fixed the fridge with some breakfast items had a broken bulb, the juice machine made an annoying noise throughout. The pool/spa have not been open since Covid started.

Rustic, definitely outdated but they are trying their best. Online services advertise Laundry services, a pool, a spa, and a fitness center. They only have the fitness center. With some major renovations and reopening of their amenities, this place could really be popping. Because it’s a very big hotel with little offering. Price is great though for a quick overnight stay. They require credit card deposits. Staff is friendly. Rooms are clean. Good place but honestly just needs some love.
