Homewood Suites by Hilton Albuquerque Uptown

The employees here are very nice but that is the ONLY good thing to say about this hotel. Rooms not ready for two hours after check in time, two washing machines for what I believe to be at least 151 total suites in this hotel. They do not even clean your room until you check out unless you specifically request it by a certain time the day prior. Even if you are here for a week you do not even get a new towel or clean sheets or your bed made! And as other reviewers have mentioned yes this place is in need of major updates. Google claims this is a five star hotel?? Fat chance!! Three star on its best day. I will never stay at anything under Hilton umbrella again. Marriott only.

This place is in need of major renovations. When you walk into the lobby for check in, it's nice. Clean, white floors. Nice furniture. However, the minute you step over the threshold to where the slow elevator is. You are transported back to the 90's. Brown carpet, walls have old tan wall paper. We were on the 2nd floor. Room 202. At first, it's nice , not bad. It's not until you are there for awhile you start to see things. The 2 peepholes had no cover on them. The window across from the door had no blackout curtains. Granted your view is of the roof with all the air conditioners. The carpet is old and gross. The door to the bedroom would not close. My mom and I had to use my suitcase to keep it closed. The drawer in dresser the TV is on in the living room would not stay closed. In the morning I made myself coffee. When I pulled the cord out of the wall, the whole wall socket came out with the cord. I tried to put it back. It did not go back in. Now for the biggest thing. The shower. Upon looking at it, It looked dirty. Then, we tried to take a shower. My mom turned on the water, and there was not hot water. When, there was finally warm water, she pulled the lift rod to get water from the shower head. There was a trickle of water. We tried everything to get that thing to work. So, for 2 days we took what felt like bird baths. Front desk wrote down what was wrong. Don't know if they did anything about it. Beware.

I stayed here recently with my pup, while on a cross country roadtrip. The location is convenient, with plenty of parking, and close to a ton places to eat. The check in process was easy, and the staff were very friendly/helpful. They even had a 'welcome' bag for my pup at the check in desk, and they had a jar of pup treats at the check in desk! The welcome bag included treats, a pup toy, poo bags, and a helpful sheet that listed pup friendly things ( dog parks, local parks, pup friendly restaurants, regular and emergency vet offices, pet stores) as well as a map of the property that provided grassy pup relief areas. I appreciated the hotel layout, which had different entry points for guests to the parking area, to help with loading/unloading luggage a little faster. The parking area appeared to be well lit, and the hotel exits/entrances had security cameras, which helped the property feel more safe and secure. My room was very comfortable, spacious, clean and quiet. I would absolutely stay here again if I'm in the area!
