Gran Meliá Iguazú

We had the best stay at Gran Melia. We chose a room with a view of the falls on the second floor and it was worth it! Walking up to the view of the falls was very memorable. Rooms were nice, clean and bright. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. We also enjoyed the activities such as tango show, painting class, wine tasting class and yoga during our 3-night stay. Best part is that you walk out of the hotel and you are within short walk to the Iguazu Falls trails. We walked the trails twice during our stay and had savored the amazing view more the second time. The Concierge was very helpful with arranging transportation to the Brazil side. We also enjoyed the gym and the spa for a facial and the hot tub treatment; and our friends used the tennis court. We stayed in June, which is low season. The pool is beautiful but unheated so we couldn’t use. Other than breakfast, the lunches and dinners were good but not great.

Rooms need to be renovated. Like most luxury hotels in Argentina, the management doesn't care about maintenance, and is running down the the buildings and facilities. Restaurant is average and extremely overprized, expect prices like in upscale restaurants in Zürich! And now, the best: at 0:15am, they have an old stinking, very loud truck coming into the compound and pumping water into their storage, directly beneath the rooms for which you pay $800 a night! And look at this backyard! This is the view they give you for $800!

We had an excellent experience at the Meliá Iguazú Hotel. Staying inside the National Park is an incredible advantage for anyone visiting the waterfalls. It allows you to enter the park early in the morning, before the crowds arrive, and enjoy a peaceful walk while admiring one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The rooms are very comfortable, spotless, and maintained to an exceptionally high standard. The level of cleanliness throughout the hotel is outstanding. What truly made our stay special was the kindness and professionalism of the staff. Everyone was genuinely welcoming and always willing to help. We keep a kosher diet, and the hotel staff was very understanding and accommodating. They kindly allowed us to store all the food we brought in both their refrigerator and freezer, which made our stay so much easier and more comfortable. We also enjoyed massages at the spa, and they were excellent—very professional and absolutely worth it. The spa itself is beautiful, peaceful, and offers breathtaking views of the waterfalls, making the whole experience even more relaxing. We highly recommend this hotel and would be delighted to stay here again in the future.
