Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham York

warning warning warning!!!! We do not recommend this place by any means, we couldn't sleep last night due to individuals filming an adult movie in the room next door to us. It kept happening every night. Room had a massive smell of cigarettes, marijuana and we noticed very dirty sheets, and unfortunately the chair has massive stains on it, and lots of dead bugs on the floor. Do not stay here by any means. Cigarette holes in the bedsheets. The towels are ratty and almost falling apart. And to top it all off the lady at the front desk at check in was extremely rude and constantly praised how "excellent" and "clean" her hotel is. DO NOT STAY HERE

Absolutely do not stay here if anyone has autism. I arrived a little past midnight, had already spoken with someone in regards to our stay, as it was late, my boyfriend had to work, so he wouldn’t be there for check in. I used to work at a hotel by Wyndham so I understand the regulations behind it which is why I had him call and explain the situation to get prior authorization that we had everything we needed for a smooth check in. Apparently the person we spoke to was a manager and she said everything was fine and we were good to go. Reservation was made under one of the people checking in since they’d be there, and the card used had his and my name on it. When we arrived to check in, there was another woman at the desk who was absolutely nasty. I have worked customer service most of my working career and this was the worst I’ve seen. My children have autism, 7, 6, & 3. I could understand if they were being too loud around guests trying to sleep, but the front desk was away from anybody who may have been trying to rest. My son (6) specifically has vocal stims and does not understand if he’s being too loud or too quiet, he’ll just make a noise. My daughter as well does not understand if she’s being too loud, even with reminders. It is apart of their disability. The front desk agent at the time told me I needed to “control my children” and when I explained they have autism she told me she “didn’t care” because “this was a business” Further during the check in process I told her, in an attempt to sympathize, that I understand the frustration as I used to work at La Quinta. That entered an entire realm of continued nastiness. Her response was “so you know this is wrong” (the discrepancy was my boyfriend was paying for the room, I had a virtual only card[I wasn’t aware my name was on the card at the time] and his Wyndham rewards was linked) I was so agitated at that point I just stopped responding. She continued to make comments about how “She(me) should know better” and that her “boss” (who was the one that took and confirmed the reservation) shouldn’t have done any of this. She also yelled at 2 of my children to not touch a display, when all they wanted to do was look out of the window. Causing them confusion considering they have a processing disability which was already explained, and we were told she didn’t care. The morning after, the same woman was working at the desk when they were trying to receive breakfast and removed my children from receiving breakfast which is supposed to be apart of our stay, again due to things out of their control caused by their disabilities. If I had anywhere else to go at that time, I would have never continued the reservation. I didn’t even want to go get toilet paper if she was working at the front desk. I’m so disappointed in the customer service I recieved during this stay, and the lack of urgency Wyndham had with getting back to me about outright discrimination. I will not be returning.
