When arrived and checked into this.hotel in Vilnius and was greeted by a series of messages that say a lot about how the property sees its guests. In the elevator, a notice that room make‑up is done once a week on Thursday, and if guests want housekeeping on other days, they must request it by 3 pm the day before. In other words, you have already paid for the room and service, but you still need to pre‑apply in advance just to receive basic housekeeping. In the bathroom, another sticker encourages guests to drink tap water, while the room itself offers no bottled water, no fridge, no tissue paper, no toiletries, and they don’t even replenish tea bags or toilet rolls. Room make‑up, when it happens, is minimal at best. On the door, the hotel proudly proclaims itself a “damned good hotel”. From this guest’s experience, it is probably closer to the darn worst hotel in recent memory. During my stay I only used room make‑up once, and ended up bringing my own bottled water, tissues and tea bags just to feel reasonably comfortable. Guests today are increasingly conscious about sustainability and many are willing to reuse towels, decline daily cleaning, or skip single‑use plastics – but that should be their choice, not something imposed by default. Sustainability should not mean that guests must actively request virtually every basic comfort, from room make‑up to bottled water, toiletries, or even toilet rolls, just to bring the stay up to a decent level.

It’s a vibrant, well-run choice for anyone seeking a comfortable and functional base in Vilnius.
