Clarion Hotel Trondheim

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel — the service was excellent from start to finish. The room was amazing, with a beautiful harbour view that made every morning special. Breakfast was outstanding, with great variety and quality. Check-in was quick and efficient, and they kindly allowed us a late checkout, which was incredibly helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

Lovely room and view on 7th floor, however once the pillows were readjusted there was a lot of damage to the headboard which reported to Reception (so they knew we had not done it). Was told by new Receptionist that rooms were being updated but this was not a good first impression for a hotel of this standard. Said my concerns would be passed to a Manager and my phone number, but nothing so far. I showed a photograph I'd taken of the damage. After a day out, came back to find no mugs or teaspoons for our tea and coffee were in our room and nothing had been replaced. Emailed Reception, after 20 minutes I called, as per the guest card in the room, and was told it had been passed onto Housekeeping. They came to the room, unsure of what the problem was, so I showed her. 2 mugs appeared and 1 teaspoon which she indicated would need a wash. For this standard of hotel, this should be better organised and addressed. On a positive note, breakfast is great, location is lovely although a short walk to town and 9th floor bar has great views. Would have been given a better rating if we'd not had these issues.
