Angad Arts Hotel St. Louis, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

If you want something besides the normal, generic hotel experience, this is the place to stay. Modern art is everywhere, starting with a sculpture at the entry made from suitcases. Great location that's close to restaurants and entertainment, convenient, secured parking ($30/day), and contemporary art throughout the hotel--from the outside entrance to the lobby. Claims to be the only US hotel where you book a room by color (red, yellow, blue, or green). We chose yellow, and everything was very yellow and cheery! Our window looked out over the city with a great view of the arch. Incredibly kind and helpful folks at the desk (big shout-out to the very sweet Melissa who fixed a booking problem for me). The rooftop bar is a highlight you can't miss. They even have a DJ on Thursday evenings. Great room prices too.

I stayed at this beautiful hotel just this weekend. What a unique concept..colorful rooms and choosing based on your mood. The display of art was amazing. I had a blue room. I hope for a little more light in the room, but overall it was great. The view was stunning! Ans the rooftop party with DJ on Saturday night was everything! So much fun! Great music and vibes! I was in room 1104. Please pack up the mattress and all of the pillows and send it to me!!! I slept like a baby. Such comfortable accommodations! I will definitely stay here again! Thanks Hilton! This is a hard review to write, because I’m not typically one to write negative reviews. However, this one is warranted. When we arrived, our hotel room was not ready for us to check in, even after check in time. There was a long line of other people waiting to check in with the same problem. This was our first issue. When we got into our room, we were disappointed to find that the thermostat had no other option than “warm” or “cool”. There is no way to adjust the temperature, so we either froze or burned up. The telephone didn’t work in the room, so there was no way to contact the front desk aside from leaving the room to do so. The room was INCREDIBLY dark, with at least 1 of the very few & very dim light fixtures not working. This made it hard to do simple tasks even during daylight hours. I wish I could review the restaurant and bar staff separately, because they were TOP NOTCH. The hotel, while unique in its artistic style, was just so-so, and the service was lackluster. Not sure how this place has the rating it does. And for it to be a Hilton property - that’s the most disappointing part.
