Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel

One of my favourite place to stay in BKK. The hotel has a classic Thai vibe with a touch of luxury and class. I love the many green spaces all around the property. Most of the rooms have undergone refurbishment. The hotel is a short walk away to the Erawan Shrine and to most of the major Malls e.g. Central World, Siam Paragon, Platinum Mall, Platinum POP etc. The hotel is 10 minutes away from Lumpini Park which is a great bonus for me because I get to do my morning run there with hundreds of local Thais.

This was our 5th stay at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, and once again we were truly impressed. Every time we come back, we are welcomed so warmly and made to feel special from the moment we arrive. The staff are exceptional, always attentive, caring, and genuinely dedicated to making every guest feel comfortable. As we were travelling with our baby, we chose to dine at the hotel every evening, and it was absolutely the right decision. The food was outstanding throughout our stay. The breakfasts are simply incredible, with an amazing variety and excellent quality. I was particularly impressed because buffets offering such a wide range of choices and different cuisines are often inconsistent or poorly executed. Here, whether it was a French croissant, fresh labneh, or smoked salmon, everything was excellent and prepared to a very high standard. A special mention to Spice Market, the Thai restaurant, which was so good that we went there twice. The quality of the ingredients is outstanding, and the dishes feel refined and authentic, far beyond the usual traditional plates you can find everywhere. It offers a more elevated and memorable Thai dining experience. The hotel itself is stunning, combining timeless Thai elegance with a beautiful architectural style that creates a unique atmosphere. The newly renovated pool area is fantastic and made our stay even more enjoyable. This hotel continues to set the standard for luxury, service, and hospitality in Bangkok. We cannot wait to return for our 6th visit.

Disappointing Experience at Anantara Siam My recent stay at Anantara Siam was far from the 5-star experience I was expecting. Upon check-in, I was informed of ongoing construction, which would have been helpful to know before booking, so I could decide whether to proceed with the reservation. The biggest letdown was the overall service quality, which felt more in line with a 4-star hotel than a luxury 5-star establishment. For instance, the breakfast setup was chaotic. There wasn’t a clear breakfast area; instead, I ate in a court between restaurants, and on my first day, I had to search for the food myself since nothing was explained. As for the room, it was clean but not what I had booked. I didn’t bother raising the issue, but it was disappointing nonetheless. Soundproofing was also a problem – I could clearly hear what sounded like aerobics next door at night. This would have been a big issue if I was traveling with my son, but it was still annoying. On top of that, Netflix wasn’t available in the room, which I find unacceptable given the price range of the hotel. One morning, I found a bag of food outside the room with spilled noodle soup – not the end of the world, but I was surprised it was left there until 8:30 a.m. without anyone cleaning it up. The hotel’s hardware is definitely showing its age, and in my opinion, it would be better to close the hotel during renovations to ensure a better guest experience when they reopen. Unfortunately, due to these issues, I wouldn’t recommend Anantara Siam to others, and I personally won’t be returning.
