Lunar-like rock formations in Valle de la Luna
La Paz · Bolivia
About this experience
Just outside La Paz, erosion has turned clay and sand into sharp spires and narrow canyons. Paths wind between the formations, and light and shadow change with every turn. The lunar comparison is well earned, and the stop rewards photographers.
The ground can be dry and dusty, so grippy shoes are best. The altitude is high, so walk slowly and drink water. Afternoon light adds depth to the rock.
