Historic locomotive photography tour at Uyuni Train Cemetery
Uyuni · Bolivia
About this experience
Outside the town of Uyuni, rusting steam locomotives and carriages stand in rows in the desert. You climb the nineteenth-century machines and photograph the texture of the iron against the sky. It is a stark, simple place that connects industrial history with the region's mining past.
Metal surfaces can be rusty and sharp, so wear gloves and closed, grippy shoes, and climb with care, especially with children. Sunrise and sunset light give the best images.
