In Terelj National Park, the Aryabal Meditation Temple on the mountainside is reached through pine forest and stone steps. Along the way there are prayer flags, small shrines and rest points. At the top, the valley, river and surrounding hills open out as a quiet view.
The slope and steps can tire you even over a short distance, so climb slowly. Bring comfortable trainers, water and a windproof jacket. Keep quiet and respectful around the temple. Mountain weather changes, so carry a rain jacket. Climbs run from spring to autumn.
