Aztec and Maya archaeological collections at the National Museum of Anthropology
Mexico City · Mexico
About this experience
The National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City tells the story of the Aztec and Maya worlds through a vast collection. Halls surround a central courtyard, with the great Aztec calendar stone and finds from the Maya period standing out. You can follow the traces of ancient civilisations with a guide or at your own pace.
The halls are large, so choosing a few sections is more comfortable than attempting everything. Comfortable shoes matter for the long halls. Interiors can be cool, so bring a light jacket. A short break in the courtyard garden helps midway.
