Reindeer sledding and herd feeding in the Naryan-Mar tundra
Naryan-Mar · Russia
About this experience
At a reindeer herders' camp on the Naryan-Mar tundra, you ride a sledge. The animals pull across snowy flats, and afterwards you come close to the herd and feed them. It is a hands-on meeting for anyone who wants to see northern herding culture at first hand.
Families with children are welcome. Approach the animals calmly. It takes place in winter: pack thermal underlayers, a windproof shell, gloves and heavy boots, and wrap children up well.
