Geirangerfjord viewing from Dalsnibba Mountain summit
Geiranger · Norway
About this experience
From the 1,500-metre summit of Dalsnibba, the Geirangerfjord appears far below as a thin dark ribbon. Snowy peaks, steep slopes and cloud shadows surround you. Seeing the fjord from this height gives a very different scale from the shoreline.
The summit is reached by vehicle, yet it can be very cold and windy up there, so bring a coat, gloves and a hat. Mist and cloud can hide the view, so a clear day is a matter of luck. It runs in spring, summer and autumn, and early morning often gives a clearer picture.
