About this experience
Namdaemun is one of Seoul's oldest and busiest markets. Along narrow passages, steaming griddles, frying dough and stalls heaped with chilli sauces stand in rows. Working through small standing portions is the quickest way to meet the city's street food.
If you are sensitive to spicy food, ask the vendor first. Food is eaten standing, so tissues and a small bag help. Crowds build around midday, so going earlier is more comfortable.
