Nami Island, near Chuncheon, is known for its long, straight lines of metasequoia trees. The path beneath the soaring trunks turns green in spring and yellow and red in autumn, and the ginkgo avenues change colour with the seasons too. A slow walk around the island is all it takes.
The look changes with the season: green in spring, yellow and red in autumn, snowy paths in winter. Bring gloves and a scarf in winter and a light jacket in autumn. Choose the morning to avoid crowds.
