In Krasnaya village, local craftspeople show how a shaman drum is made by traditional methods. Hide, frame and handwork come together step by step, and you end up holding a drum you made yourself. It is a quiet, hands-on way to look closely at a northern cultural tradition.
The workshop is indoors, and fine handwork needs patience. It is wise to leave space in your luggage for the finished drum. In winter, pack thermal layers, gloves and sturdy footwear for the trip to the village.
