Montmartre funicular ride to Sacré-Cœur Basilica
Paris · France
About this experience
A funicular takes you up the slope of Montmartre, and at the top the white-domed Sacré-Cœur Basilica comes into view. From its steps you look out over Paris rooftops, while artists and small cafes fill the streets around. Known as the hill of painters, the neighbourhood conveys the city's bond with art.
The funicular reduces the climb, but the district still has steps and sloping streets. Comfortable shoes are needed on the cobbles. The basilica is a place of worship, so expect quiet and respectful dress inside. Keep your bag closed in crowds to guard against pickpockets.
